This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The materials will be used to set up a semester long project for students to explore the impact of air, water and soil quality on the growth of plants and fungi. Students will take part in measuring the air, water and soil quality, caring for the plants and fungi as well as monitoring their growth. My students recieve few opportunities for hands on activities like this and an experience like this would be memorable and inspiring for them. I hope that they will be able to eventually take the plants and mushrooms to grow in their own homes and share the experience with their families.
