Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a Title I elementary school with some of the most energizing and endearing children I have ever met in my life. I have been at my school for seven years and I could not imagine teaching anywhere else.
This year, I moved up to teach 2nd graders, some of whom are the Kindergartners I never got to finish the year with due to the Covid-19 pandemic so they have a very special place in my heart.
These kids have been through more than the average seven-year-old had ever been through in years past and they have shown us just how resilient and flexible they are. Bouncing between remote learning, hybrid learning, new teachers throughout the year, and every other change we have thrown at them. After all that and then some, they still showed up at school in August bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready to make up for what they missed out on and move forward with their learning!
My Project
These water bottles will help us stay hydrated while at school; due to Covid19 we are not allowed to use the water fountains.
These water bottles are sturdy, easy to clean, and hold a decent amount of water; we will keep these water bottles in the classroom and wash them out with soap and water once a week.
Our current water bottles, have the pop tops, which are difficult to clean and easy to mix up with a friends.
These new water bottles will help prevent us from spreading germs.
