Help me give my students the supplies needed to complete the art of water marbling. By providing the opportunity to explore this unique art, students can choose colors that represent them to create unique designs on personal stationary.
Our students are driven, worldly, lifelong learners. Their unique learning styles and zest for life make them incredible students. Our diverse learners are the future, and we strive to provide them with a world class 21st century education that will make them stand out among the best! As an arts integration school, we provide our students with a global education that teaches the whole child. Our emphasis on wellness also takes into account the basic needs of our unique learners.
This year we have implemented an Arts and Humanities Cultural Arts course that will be driven by Project Based Learning (PBL).
A huge aspect of the PBL style of teaching includes multiple flexible seating and learning opportunities so students can choose the best way to complete their work and collaborate with their peers. Addressing another facet of PBL, student voice and choice, with the incorporation of arts integrations supplies, students can decide the ways they learn best and apply that preference to other areas of their academic day.
My Project
The crux of our Arts and Humanities program is providing unique opportunities for students to tell their personal stories through a variety of art forms. By giving students the opportunity and materials to practice the art of water marbling, students can create their own personal stationary that will allow them to explore colors that represent their personalities and emotions. As a result of creating personalized stationary unique to them, students will be implored to express themselves through writing or drawing on this one-of-a-kind paper they created themselves.
Through this unique exploration in project-based, arts-integrated learning, students will be able to work with the teacher to explore water marbling not only as an artform, but as a way to express who they are as individuals.
By allowing students to learn about what colors represent unique personality traits and emotions, they can create personalized paper for a variety of writing or drawing activities that will help tell their stories. An exploration in mixed media, this project will allow students to interact with water marbling ink, watercolor paper, as well as basic markers that can be used on top of their marble design. This project is an innovative way to get students who may not be typically willing to express themselves through writing, an opportunity to alternatively put forth written words and drawings. Arts Integrated learning is a proven way to reach all students and help increase achievement in all content areas.
