Students read independently, participate in partner discussions, share their ideas during class conversations, and respond to thoughtful questions that encourage deeper thinking. We want our students to see reading as an opportunity to learn, imagine, connect with characters, and understand the world around them.\r\n\r\nOne of the most rewarding parts of teaching reading is watching students become excited about a book and eager to share their thoughts with others. Some students who may not have always considered themselves enthusiastic readers are discovering new stories and characters that capture their interest. Others love discussing their favorite parts, making connections to their own lives, and predicting what might happen next. They know the new routine that when it is partner or independent work time, they can grab a flexible seating option and quickly start working. They love working together and collaborating in different places in the classroom.\r\n\r\nSince receiving the flexible seating options, student engagement has increased, which in turn helps students succeed in class. The students are able to work together or independently throughout the day and know that using the flexible seating options are a priviledge.
