This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love coming to school every day. I teach 24 wonderful and enthusiastic kindergartners. A majority of my students are English language learners, with Spanish or Vietnamese as their first language.

My school is a Title I school in California.

A full 81% of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. My students may not have many material things, but they always try their best and never give up. They are hard workers, and I am so proud of my students!

My Project

Water does a body good. I am requesting water bottles for my class. Only a few students in my class have water bottles. My students need water throughout the school day to stay healthy, hydrated and happy. There is no water fountain in the classroom and the only way students can drink water is to walk outside of the classroom to the middle of the school where the water fountain is located. My students are especially thirsty after we play kick ball or relay races. They are always complaining "We are thirsty." With this project, students will each get their own new water bottle.

They will get to drink water anytime so they can stay healthy and hydrated.

Students will refill the water bottles at home and bring it to school every day. They will have access to water throughout the day and they will not need to waste class time to walk to the school water fountain. I will also challenge my students to drink one full water bottle at school and one bottle at home. I know my students will be very grateful and super happy when this project is funded.
