Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The students in my class face several challenges both in and out of the classroom as our school is located in a high poverty neighborhood. Despite any challenges they may face, my hope is that in our school, we provide high quality and meaningful learning experiences.

The goal is for students to be excited to come to school every day and to be consistently and actively engaged.

Creating a classroom that is welcoming and comfortable for students is a major priority.

My Project

Students have begun to return to school. Due to COVID 19, we have several new routines and protocols.

Students would benefit from having water bottles in class since our water fountains are currently shut off as a COVID 19 safety protocol.

They can fill up the bottles at home before they come to school. Although our water fountains are turned off, we do have new water bottle fill stations where students would be able to refill their water bottles throughout the course of the day. Staying hydrated is so important when it comes to having energy during the school day.
