My Students

First grade is a fun and exciting time when students take off as independent readers and begin to enjoy reading. I am a first-grade teacher to 20 creative and thoughtful students! My students come from diverse backgrounds and have varying levels of first-grade readiness. Every day, my students walk into our classroom full of energy, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them. This year we are learning virtually. This creates a new world of learning through technology. We play, learn, and grow together.

First grade is the launch to success for my students; what they learn in our classroom lasts a lifetime.

My Project

Imagine being 6 years old, sitting in a classroom 6 feet apart from your friends, logged onto a Teams call through a computer all day watching your teacher teach while in the same room as her! Crazy, right?!

I want my 1st graders to be able to close their computers while sitting in my room and be able to see what I share with my students at home on a large screen!

Children should not have to sit in the classroom and learn through a device. In order to provide my face to face students and my at home students the same learning experience, I need a large screen for them to see across my room. Will you help me be the teacher my students deserve me to be during this crazy year?
