My students need a variety of seating options like bouncy bands, ball chairs, saucer chairs, rockers, and floor seats to fit their individual learning styles and needs. Various seating choices allow for increased focus, interactive instruction, and an environment in which students are excited to learn!
My students are full of life, love to learn, and crave an engaging environment in which they are appreciated for their individual learning styles. They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, being their teacher lights my soul on fire!
Our school is nestled in the heart of a small Georgia town, with students from every walk of life.
I am honored to get to spend such a large part of their day by their side, helping them to learn not only the curriculum, but how to believe in themselves and their abilities.
The method and environment in which each child learns varies greatly. I like to incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! I am so looking forward to meeting my new group of learners and hope I can prepare a classroom they are excited to come into each and everyday.
My Project
I am passionate about making my classroom a learning environment that is productive, collaborative, interactive, and fun while meeting and appreciating the individual needs of all of my students. The students in my classroom will come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and I want them to walk into our classroom feeling excited and confident about their learning.
A large part of student success lies in my understanding of their individual needs.
And after over a decade in education, I am passionate about the fact that my third-graders need to MOVE. Having the ability to "fidget" while their brain is working substantially increases focus and academic success. It will allow me to expand my teaching strategies, flexible groups, and individualized instruction. Empowering students to move freely within the confines of their flexible seat, rather than a traditional classroom chair - seats that include bouncy bands, ball chairs, saucer chairs, rockers, and floor seats - enables them to focus all of their extra energy on the task at hand -- learning!
I am so excited about rebuilding my brand new classroom this school year, and believe that with your help that classroom can be bright, inviting, and fun, while also immediately laying a foundation for student success -- all because students will be able to SIT...and LEARN-LEARN!!
