My Students

The students at Porter Ranch Community School are unique in that they are a tight knit community who are truly dedicated to learning in all subject matter areas. The students at our school come from educated families who value the students all around education. Their families are live healthy lives and they promote living physically active lifestyles. This environment has provided a great setting for our physical education program.

At our school our students seek out opportunities to be physically active, they see the value in what we teach and they strive to do their very best in our classes.

Our students often share their personal achievements with us and seek out opportunities we provide for them outside the classroom setting to be active. Our school is a k-8 span school so the elementary school students observe our program in middle school and are so excited to be a part of it when they get to middle school.

Our students are willing to put in extra time to help us prepare for class lessons and physical activity opportunities outside of class. They are so excited to be physically active and share great learning experiences with their classmates.

My Project

The amazing technology world is providing my students access to learning everywhere we go. Having a mini portable projector that can connect to my iphone will allow me to show learning videos in the gym without taking up any space for students practice would greatly impact my program. As a teacher I have seen a huge increase in student learning when I show a video of the skill we are learning. This allows the content to be accessed by all students all the time.

Often I feel limited to a small room to show videos to students because that is where the projector is but if I can utilize a mini projector I can share knowledge with my students anywhere.

This can also allow me to set up a reteaching station or a small group learning environment to make sure all students can access the physical education content.
