Elementary children often have a wonderful sense of curiosity and inquisitiveness that naturally leads them into exploring and learning. It is during these elementary years that this is often lost. That is why STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) for young children are so important.\r\n\r\nThank you for your generous donation of the Push and Pull and the Foat and Sink Kits for our classroom. The kits worked out well for small groups. The students enjoyed discovering different ways to use the materials during our group centers. One group decided to use other materials to explore the sink and float and discovered that what they thought could float didn't. Imagine a child who is picked on every day—physically, verbally, or even through cyberbullying. This kind of constant, chronic victimization can lead to hopelessness and diminished self-worth that may take years to heal.\r\n\r\nYour generous donation to my project is very helping when I am teaching SEL lessons to my students. Even though they are only 6 and 7 they still need this information. They don't realize sometimes that their behavior can turn into more than kids playing around. The books have given them food for thought. They are asking many questions about bullying. \r\n \r\nI've had students come to me in tears, saying another child made fun of them or teased them. While it may seem small, these moments are the foundation of both bullying behavior and victimization. If I can help prevent these patterns from taking root, I absolutely will.\r\n\r\nWith a deep passion for my students' well-being. I thank you again for your help in making this possible—not just for this year's class, but for many more to come. I hope you see the importance of this mission of creating a safe environment for our youth. You have given children the skills and support they need to create a more understanding and compassionate world through the games, books, wristbands you have provided.","fullyFundedDate":1757021712320,"projectUrl":"project/anti-bullying-for-our-youth/9531520/","projectTitle":"Anti-Bullying for Our Youth","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wagenbach","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp114901_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1689026872927","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/kwagenbach"},{"teacherId":1266599,"projectId":9635216,"letterContent":"My students are so excited and grateful for the new headphones and color printer. They are able to concentrate without distractions, which has improved their listening comprehension, reading fluency, and overall engagement in learning.\r\n\r\nThe color printer has brought our lessons to life. I can now print vibrant visuals, anchor charts, student projects, and learning materials that make concepts more meaningful and accessible. Students love seeing their own work printed in color, which gives them a sense of pride and motivates them to do their best.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, I can create a more personalized and interactive learning environment. Before we started the materials arrived and they wanted to know what was in them. I decided to wait until we started the project. So it kept them in suspense until then. As curious as first graders are, I decided to step it up a notch, and they researched the question \"How does an airplane stay up in the sky?\" as a class. Since we didn't have the answer to this question, we developed a conjecture to research our question. The materials building airplanes, assisted in our research.\r\nThe STEM materials, Creative Straw STEM building toys and STEM erector sets, helped students do the research they needed for for their conjecture. \r\nThe two different kinds of construction kits helped them see how to construct an airplane and then they adjusted the plane to keep it in the air. I wanted them to understand the words lift, thrust, weight of the aircraft, trajectory and drag. Thank you for helping my class achieve their goal and and contributing funds for the materials. The students were shocked to learn that people they never met knew about them and cared about their learning.\r\n \r\nWe have been taking the time to learn the rules about how to play each game and what it looks like to take turns and be a good sport.
