Help me give my students a Holiday Party to take their minds off of their isolation during this pandemic and all of the negative things that not only have impacted their learning; but their life.
My students are working each and every day through this difficult, challenging time of distance learning. Keeping students engaged is key. Thanksgiving was a difficult time for some of my students because of their isoaltion from family and friends. LIfe during the pandemic.
My non English speaking students, homeless students, dyslexic, special education, and gifted kids need support on learning how to develop healthy habits from mindset to setting goals.
This is a time where social emotional development is so important and also dealing with stress. Having lessons and instruction that is highly engaging and something to look forward to is huge! Rewards and incentives are a big part as well in motivating these students.
They are a very large, diverse group of students that are learning from home for various reasons to not be exposed to COVID-19, homeless, or emotional disorders. They are at many different educational levels. They all have various learning styles and needs. Some of my students require additional materials based on their accommodations for speech, special education, dyslexia, ESL, as well as gifted.
I want to do everything possible to make them happy, productive children who have every opportunity life can provide
My Project
The pajamas and clothing are for students and families in need. The food and stocking stuffers are to drop off to all of the students who cannot attend any holiday school function because of medical reasons that keep them home in isolation during this pandemic. Creating holiday cheer and letting them know we can still see them and share joy to their hearts and mind just in a different way. Polar Express and all of the school events will not be open to these children. They deserve to know their wishes, hopes, and dreams are not forgotten during this a Pandemic.
