This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Let me tell you something—success doesn’t come easy. It takes hard work, focus, and persistence. But let me also tell you something else—success is much harder when you’re hungry or tired. That’s why I’m asking for a refrigerator, a microwave, and snacks for my Algebra 1 students. These aren’t just items; they’re tools that can change the game for these young minds.

You see, my students are the kind who don’t back down from a challenge.

They show up for lunch tutoring, stay late for afterschool sessions, and even give up their Saturdays to prepare for Algebra success. But hunger and fatigue can steal their focus, their energy, and even their confidence. A fridge will let them store meals, water, and juice to stay nourished. A microwave will provide them with warm, comforting meals during long study sessions. And healthy snacks will give them the boost they need to keep going when the work gets tough.

My goal is simple: remove hunger and fatigue as barriers to learning. I want my students to have everything they need to focus entirely on mastering Algebra 1. They’re special. They’re determined, they’re resilient, and they’re striving for more—more confidence, more understanding, more opportunities to achieve their dreams.
