Warm Clothes for Warm Hearted Children

Help me give my students an exciting experience designing a tye-dye shirt for field day and warm comfortable clothes when they don't have them.

My Students

I teach in an onsite, public Pre-Kclassroom that is paired with a SEKCAP daycare 0-3 year old program. We are also partnered with Headstart. I have a morning class and an afternoon class of 15 students in each class at max. The combination provides a strong sense of community where teachers know all of the children and families. We see most parents several times a week for drop-off and pick-up.

Many of the children have been in classes together since infancy creating many interesting, sibling-like relationships.

They both support and challenge each other every day.

My Project

I remember as a kid always wishing I could have the chance to have a school spirited shirt and to be able to make a tye-dye shirt. When I finally was able to make it, it was so fun and engaging so much that I still remember it to this day. Part of these resources will be used for our annual field day to make sure we know where each student is at when the entire school is together. The resources will help keep our students safe, by tye-dyeing the white shirts green, as well as providing an engaging fun memory for each student in our class. Some may not ever get another chance in their childhood to have an opportunity to make a shirt.

With the weather getting colder and colder, the rest of the resources will help keep our students warm and healthy when they have an accident at school or if they come to school without these resources.

We greatly appreciate any support for keeping our students warm and healthy.
