My Students

My students are amazing kids who love to move, learn, and play! Unfortunately, living in a very low-income/high poverty area does not afford them with the same opportunities others sometimes take for granted. Despite the challenges they face, my students work hard to meet high expectations, and get genuinely excited about learning!

Every day I see students who love to learn, but fight the constant battles associated with growing up in a poverty stricken area.

They are our future and I would love to give them the same wonderful opportunities as students who are more fortunate.

My Project

In my classroom, we spend a lot of time learning through play. We also work hard to ensure we are equipped with the skills necessary to be 21st Century Learners. Unfortunately, we are not always able to use the programs proven to empower students with these skills because of the limited availability of technology within our classroom.

My students are extremely motivated and love to learn, but without access to technology, they are unable to use programs critical to their learning and success in the classroom.

With these tablets I will be able to give my students access to programs that will help them learn, grow, and succeed in first grade.
