My students are eager to immerse themselves in the stage and production industry. This is the first year of this class and I've seen such dedication from my students to hone their skills in this exciting industry. From the first day of class, we have gone from curiosity to actually working on some very high profile events such as an appearance on the Jimmy Kimmel show.
From local stage productions to high profile live music events, my students get to see it all and be involved in the design, build and execution.
Nothing inspires me more than to see the growth of my students.
In theaters and venues across the world stagehands use "walk ramps" to load gear on and off trucks. Many venues also use these ramps to push gear on and off the stage. Having this ramp here in the theater would give my students a safer workplace to move gear on and off our stage. We plan on having musical acts performing in our theater and many of these acts have quite a bit of heavy gear that will need to be put on the stage. I want my students to have real industry experience so that they are prepared when they enter the workforce.
