My Project

These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom with many opportunities to learn about the lives of other students. These books will help my students to read a real life perspective on a tragic situation. In the very small school my students attend, they are often unknowlegable of the events and experiences children their age experience around the world.

With these new books, my students will be able to learn about the shocking lives the Somalian refugees and the struggles these young children endured.

I feel it is very important for students to realize what is happening around the world and what other people face. Using these graphic novels will allow us to complete a book study and make it more accessible to a wider variety of student abilities.
