Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a special education classroom of students from 7th grade to 21 years old. Our community is rural, mainly consisting of agricultural employment and lower-income families. In our classroom, we are preparing our students for real-life experiences, including self-care, self-advocacy, and future job skills and opportunities. These headsets allow our students to make mistakes in a safe environment and learn how to function as contributing community members.
Using the Meta Oculus 2 and 3 VR headsets to help bridge the gap between the classroom and real life gives our students that much-needed connection to help them navigate real-life experiences in a risk free environment.
This system can help us give our students a more interactive learning experience in all aspects, including academics, social, job and life skills, and self-regulation.
