Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach a group of amazing students. My 7 classes are comprised of gifted sixth graders who are hardworking, smart, and very curious.

Through this project I am hoping to give my students the resources and opportunities they need to dig deeper into our content and become expert historians.

Being curious, my students have a lot of questions when they are introduced to new material. Most of them are learning about ancient civilizations (such as Mesopotamia, Egypt, and India) for the first time. Our textbook only touches on some of the topics. Items from this project will go far in expanding their knowledge about what is being taught in class.

The Rainbow Scratch Art Paper will provide my students a hands-on experience as they will research then create their own piece of ancient Greek pottery. New books on some of the civilizations taught will help give more insight as well as be used for research projects and biographies. Headphones will come in handy as we will be listening to podcasts then reflecting on them by way of materials that will be purchased with the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card.
