Vocational Skills Coffee Cart for Special Needs

Help me give my students skills for daily living and running a coffee cart at school. They will need coffee cups, coffee, and coffee filters to run the coffee cart and supplies to clean up.

My Students

The students I teach are post-high school aged special needs. They all have some kind of disability, ranging from learning disabled, emotionally disturbed, intellectually disabled, blind, and autistic to name a few. The students are eager to learn and to get the help they need to meet their academic goals.

Every student should have the same chance to learn and succeed in school no matter what socio-economic status they come from.

I try and make my students feel special, so they can all reach their highest potential!

My Project

We run a coffee cart at school where the students make coffee, prepare food and put it on a cart to deliver around the school. They will also need laundry detergent to wash aprons and dish towels and dish washing soap to do the dishes.

The coffee cart allows the students to have real life experiences preparing coffee, taking orders, making food, and handling money.

The students enjoy going around the school and selling their goodies. It gives the students a chance to deal with money interactions and social interactions as well. It is an amazing experience for the kids to do this a few times a week.
