Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I work with the most dynamic, amazing, and capable students in Los Angeles. My school is Title-1 and in an urban setting. The school and the community has a lot of pride. My goal is to prepare my students so they can accomplish their life and academic goals so the can reinforce and strengthen their community.

I have students who are intelligent and creative.

They want to perform well academically and I want to ensure that their academic performance matches their ability.

My Project

Students are introduce the word list and have the opportunity to turn-and-talk about the meanings. Using varied cooperative learning strategies, students will complete practice activities practice activities with context clues, synonyms and antonyms. The students will read a vocabulary in context passage and answer comprehension questions.
