This project truly began with the students themselves. Before starting the campaign, I conducted a school-wide survey to learn exactly what stories and topics our students were interested in. By incorporating their ideas and recommendations into the final book list, I was able to create a booklist that the students truly wanted. \r\n\r\nThe impact of the project was immediate. Once I announced the books were ready for checking out students were rushing to get to the new books. Within the very first week of displaying the books more than half of the new collection had been checked out. Students were excited to read stories with characters that \"were just like me\" one of my students said. By helping me fulfill their specific requests, you've given my students not only a way to advance their reading skills, but a chance to show them that their voices matter.\r\n\r\nI would once again like to thank you for your kindness and generosity. You have not only added books to fill our shelves, but have help create a genuine love for reading within each of our students. An environment where our students feel seen and inspired. We here at 54th Street Elementary are so grateful for your support and the lasting and positive footprint you've left on our entire school community.","fullyFundedDate":1766953715254,"projectUrl":"project/new-worlds-to-discover-refreshing-our-l/9705488/","projectTitle":"New Worlds to Discover: Refreshing Our Library Shelves","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nieves","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10253930"},{"teacherId":112584,"projectId":9699681,"letterContent":"You brought JOY to a lot of little people.
