My Students

"It's A Small World After All." I want my students to be able to experience the francophone world virtually through the use of a laptop. Most of my students don't have access to a computer other than in the school library. A laptop will provide opportunities to learn through "hands-on" approach.

I teach in a multicultural high school in a big city in California.

A large percentage of our students receive free or reduced lunch due to their socioeconomic status. My students are good kids, inquisitive, and eager to learn. For many, being in my French class is a home away from home. I want to share my passion and excitement of France and the Francophone world with my students, helping to broaden and enrich their world. Unfortunately, due to economic hard times, my classroom is overcrowded and there is a lack of materials and supplies needed for my students. I want my students to be able to get the education that they deserve.

My Project

Having a laptop in the classroom will enable my students to research a variety of topics, present projects, virtually view France and its museums as well as the Francophone world. We will be able to communicate via email with "e-pals" in a French school. A laptop in the class will enrich my students' lives for the better. Most of my students do not have access to a computer at home. A classroom laptop will expand my students' learning. It will provide more opportunities for them to learn through a "hands-on" approach.

Having a laptop in my classroom is vital for my students in order to do research, have multiple ways to access information, create projects, and virtually see the Francophone world. A laptop will allow my students to gain technological knowledge in order to better prepare them for the future. You can make a lasting impression on the lives of my students! A laptop will help make learning French more relevant, interesting and exciting for my students.
