My Students

Our classroom is a bright and friendly group of fifteen 4 and 5-year-old students! It is a "blended classroom", meaning that some students are general education students and some have disabilities.

Our students are inquisitive learners, so they love to explore, play and ask questions.

We do a lot of work with letter sounds, counting and number sense, read-alouds, vocabulary, science, social studies, learning how to be a good friend, independence, and how to learn and play in a school setting.

Our students have a wide range of strengths and needs, so it's important to our classroom team to provide them with an environment that promotes exploring and learning while allowing for differentiation. We also place importance on creating a space that is safe, calming, and welcoming. Thank you for taking an interest in our classroom and students

My Project

With the color printer, ink, paper, and laminating paper, I will create visuals to support all of my students, especially those with disabilities and bilingual students. These tools will enhance read-alouds, small groups, transitions, and our whole group time. The visuals that I can create with these materials can also support social-emotional growth and communication.

Research shows that pairing visuals with other forms of instruction (kinesthetic, auditory, tactile, etc) increases learning for students at the pre-reading level (aka preschool), students who are bilingual, and students who have disabilities.

I can't wait to be able to provide my students with clear, colorful pictures to supplement their learning and assist them in communication and social-emotional development.
