This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are from Lynwood, CA. They are special because most come from low socio-economic families but they are the sweetest kids. They are respectful and kind. I remember walking down the hallway carrying a lot of books and papers, so some of the students offered to help carry it to my class.

My Project

Many of my visual and SPED students will benefit from seeing what their teacher is doing on the iPad through modeling of their assignments in real time. The Osmo serves as a projector that connects to the learning platform so that students can visually see step by step of how the assignment is being done. This is very important to SPED & EL learners because many of them are visual learners. There are about 30-40% of students who are trying their best to learn through auditory instructions. This is especially difficult if there’s no additional visual supplement. The iPad and the Osmo will team up with the teachers voice to increase student engagement during class lectures.
