This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a student, I remember looking at the diverse, colorful posters on my teachers' walls. Sometimes, this was to reference a figure that was relevant to the current topic of discussion, but sometimes... I'll admit it, my mind would wander, and I'd find myself absorbing information about the formation of stars while sitting in my biology class.

Posters and visual aids broadly can ground and supplement student learning.

I always wanted a classroom filled with posters, but due to my classroom design, I have a spacious room with lots of cabinets (which is great!), which unfortunately means less accessible wall space. When talking with groups during class, I sometimes find myself holding a poster with a useful diagram and walking around with it, instead of being able to point to a nearby wall.

A mobile whiteboard would not only allow me to display useful posters that can be easily referenced, I'd also be able to roll it around the classroom to groups or individuals and use its whiteboard function to work out math problems or draw food webs. This would greatly level-up my teaching practice.
