My Students

I am teacher in a low income school in Maryland. I believe that ALL means ALL and that all students deserve equal access to education! I have been teaching Special Education to students in 3rd and 4th grade. Over 30% of my students are English language learners and over 50% of my students are economically disadvantaged.

These students are eager to learn and excited about school.

I want to expose them to reading, writing, math, science, and social studies through the specialized lense of special education. I teach my children that elementary school is an essential part of their education. I also believe that literacy is an essential part of learning.

I would love to purchase listening materials for my classroom. I believe students would benefit from me having my very own white board. Currently, we have very few options for this. I do not have my own classroom or teaching space, having a whiteboard on wheels would be an amazing resource. My students are amazing and truly awesome! I am thrilled to be their instructor and want the best for them!

My Project

These supplies, like storage basket, charts and markers, will allow my students to have a concerte visual representation of what they are learning. My class is a place where students are nurtured and welcome to use any and all learning styles. All of these supplies have been chosen with them in mind in order to aid and supplement their learning. Students will be able to view the white board and interact with learning with it also.

With these supplies, my students will be able to access a print rich, visual environment.

They will also be able to see what we are learning instead of me having to use a small surface to show them what we are learning. The best way to increase learning is to provide many different ways for students to do so. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in the content being taught, and this project will only help enrich their experiences!
