My Students

I teach a special needs class for students with severe autism. My students have different forms of disabilities. Cognitively and behaviorally they experience some challenges that general education students don't. We work in a self contained classroom and need every form of assistance that can help such as assistive technology, adult support, visual aids, and sensory support. We have a total of seven students.

Despite their disabilities my students are absolutely amazing.

I learn form them as much as they learn from me. Every day with my students is a gift.

My Project

Imagine an environment in which our students are exposed to hands on opportunities to learn about the world around them by applying their senses. Interactive Neighborhood for Kids(INK) provides an ideal setting for our students to hear, see, feel and touch the real world via a variety of hands on exhibits.

This one of a kind museum has the ultimate selection of real life scenarios and situations that will absolutely benefit our students in the manner in which the exhibits mirror real life settings.

Students are exposed to a variety of real life situations in one place that would otherwise be impossible to experience in one day under one roof.
