By providing tools such as books, calming balls, calming strips, and an emotions chart it had a powerful and positive impact on my students' academic and emotional growth. Books were essential for helping to build strong literacy skills, expanding vocabulary, and improving comprehension. My students developed a love for reading. They also served as an emotional outlet, allowing my students to escape into different worlds, relate to characters, and process their own feelings in a safe and imaginative way. This helped to build empathy and a deeper understanding of the world around them.\r\n\r\nThe Calming balls and calming strips helped give some of my students with self-regulation tools that supported focus, reduced anxiety, and helped them manage their emotions. The calming balls gave them a tactile way to release built-up tension. This was especially helpful during transitions or challenging moments in our school day. Similarly, the calming strips provided a quiet, non-distracting sensory input for my students who felt anxious, overstimulated, or restless. These tools helped my students stay engaged in learning without causing disruptions. They were particularly beneficial for my students with sensory processing needs, attention difficulties, or heightened stress levels. It helped them stay focused.\r\n\r\nThe emotions chart was another valuable resource that promoted emotional literacy and helped create my supportive classroom environment. By offering my students a visual tool to identify and communicate their feelings, the emotions chart encouraged self-awareness and emotional expression. It gave them a way to ask for help or take a moment to calm down when needed. This not only helped my students feel seen and understood but also allowed me to respond with empathy and timely support. Together, these tools fostered a classroom atmosphere where students feel safe, respected, and capable of managing their emotions. The result was a more inclusive and productive learning environment where all my students were better equipped to thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. By intentionally incorporating these resources into the classroom, I helped them build essential life skills while also supporting their overall well-being.","fullyFundedDate":1734099007358,"projectUrl":"project/help-students-become-emotionally-intelli/8797459/","projectTitle":"Help Students Become Emotionally Intelligent!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Creekmore","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8837134"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_55410","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":816,"numTeachers":53,"percentFrplEligible":66,"percentAsian":10,"percentBlack":39,"percentWhite":14,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":31,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":66.3,"schoolId":55410,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Pharr Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Pharr Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/gwinnett-county-public-schools/pharr-elementary-school/55410"}
