My Students
I teach in a group of five, pre-k classes. My students are very young this year. They are very eager to learn in a structured environment. I have to keep them busy and on task. This school year is so uncertain we never know what to expect. We don’t know if we will be at home or at school; if the kids will be working from home and the teachers from school doing virtual learning. We have no idea if we will all be at home trying to teach. That is why my project is so important. What I love most about this group of children is their individuality and eagerness to learn. They don’t care where they are; they just want to be engaged. Keeping these children engaged in a learning environment may be tough considering the circumstances. It will be fun to see how much they have learned at the end of the year.

My Project
We use the smart board is in my classroom daily, several times a day. I use this tool to help the kids learn how to form a letter, to eventually learning to count for math. In these uncertain times where parents don't want to send their children to school, to having to separate four year old children during learning centers, the document camera will be a most effective tool to ensure all the children can see what is expected of them and also, away from their neighbor. Social distancing is a huge aspect in the classroom as it is all over the world. Teachers have to find new and interesting ways to teach. The document camera and Teacher Pay Teachers account will tremendously help in the virtual age that we find ourselves in. As of now, we are still in the classroom and can manage one on one. When we have to return to our homes to teach and the children to learn, other requirements will be asked of us. Using the Smart board along with the document camera will ensure that all of the kids can see what we are doing a the same time at school, as well as in their homes.

Our project will help these pre-k children to learn in a fun way in an uncertain world. They are the lucky ones. They are just starting their educational career and have nothing to look back on to tell them that how they are learning is different than before. Let's make the transition as easy as possible for the teacher and the kids. Thank you for your much needed help.
