My Students

My class consists of 22 smart, curious, compassionate, hardworking students, each with individual strengths. My students have shown such tremendous growth this year! Students in my class who couldn't sound out words are reading full books. This growth is shown must when they are given books and materials that they are interested in. I love seeing their faces light up when we are learning about something they are excited about, whether this is animals, music, dancing, or ninjas. Help me continue to foster this love of learning and keep them excited about school!

My Project

My students are out of school for rest of the 2019-2020 school year due to the coronavirus spreading throughout the World. This poses a challenge - how do I continue to foster reading growth and a love of learning when I can't see them every day?

Most of my students have little to no books or supplies at home.

Few of them have Internet access to access additional learning materials during this time. When they aren't at school they don't get to read. I want to provide my students with Read Aloud stories that they are EXCITED to hear during this stressful and uncertain time. I want them to continue their learning and go into next grade fully ready and excited to be back in school!
