I need donations for virtual professional development to add more hands on activities to my teacher toolbox! This virtual professional development will provide me with inquiry based labs and lessons that can be utilized .

My Students

I work in a diverse school district and more than half of my students receive free lunch.

My students are wonderful souls who each have something to offer this world.

My students are encouraged to always be themselves in the classroom; individuality is celebrated! Many of the students I teach are reading below grade level and struggle with reading comprehension. They are eager to learn when actively engaged and are always making me want to be a better teacher. My classroom is a special place because it's been made to feel like home.

My Project

This is a virtual course that will facilitate my learning to teach me more hands-on and active instruction. I am looking to increase my repertoire of engaging activities. Apathy has gravely increased in the classroom due to the pandemic, and I am currently looking for new ideas, demonstrations, and activities that will engage students and encourage them to be active participants of their own learning. I find that when students "do science" that they truly learn the concept, whereas when students are passive learners they do not grasp and apply the concepts as well. I am hoping with this course to increase my learning on engagement in science!
