Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work at a special education school, serving emotionally disturbed, learning disabled, and other special education-classified students. Our students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Over 95% of the student body is eligible for free lunch and more than 90% receive public assistance. My students have exceptional abilities and with the proper accommodations and modifications, they truly thrive in our school setting.

My students would love to have a school membership to Katonah Museum of Art for the duration of the school year.

Membership includes unlimited visits to the museum, docent-led tours, and access to a host of educational programs & materials. During the pandemic, the museum is providing virtual/online opportunities for students so they can continue learning about & growing through art.

Field trips (even virtual ones) are so important because they bring classroom curricula to life, and give students the opportunity to enhance their social skills.

Katonah Museum of Art, through innovative exhibition and education programs, promotes the understanding and enjoyment of the visual arts for diverse audiences. The museum presents exhibitions that explore ideas about art, culture, and society - past and present. Thank you so much for considering a donation.
