This year, I will be inheriting another brilliant group of students. Our classroom will be entirely virtual and now that we are not together physically, it's more important than ever to create a space that will encourage growth. My second graders will be facing so many challenges in the upcoming year and part of my job is to provide them with a sense of comfort and normalcy.
My kids deserve every possible resource I can acquire for them so that they can be successful in their education and their future.
My students bring a lot of energy and interest into the classroom. In return, I do my best to make my classroom as inviting and exuberant as possible using any resources I can find. However, this is made extra challenging this year given the limitations that covid-19 has placed on us. My kids need supplies that will allow them to have the engaging learning experiences they deserve.
My Project
I have a wonderful group of math wizards in my second grade class. When people ask them what their favorite subject is, so many of them have a huge grin on their faces when they get to respond "math"! I am requesting digital math intervention resources from Teachers Pay Teachers to provide practice during virtual learning and beyond.
However, going completely virtual for the year has shortened our math time to just 45 minutes a day.
This leaves very little time to go back and review topics that are more difficult for my kids. I've decided to do after school math lessons for my students twice a week. In order to do that, I need materials that I can assign virtually to give them the best learning experience. The resources on Teacher Pay Teacher will allow me to do that!
