Violas and Cellos and Music Oh My!

My Students

Bob Marley said, "One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain." My students want to hit music back by learning how to play string instruments.

My students have so much in their hearts and souls that is just dying to get out!

Unfortunately many of my students come from high poverty homes. Their families can't enjoy the luxury of buying their children instruments or paying for lessons. Most of my students have never had the exposure to many types of instruments let alone touched one. Help give my students an opportunity in a lifetime by becoming the violist or cellist they were born to be.

My Project

Our goal is to have all of the students in our Junior- High School to be given a chance to play an instrument. Our school is in need of instruments including cellos and violas to continue offering middle school students options in the arts. Instruments are the hardest part to get funded.

Many of the students requested the opportunity to play specific instruments, such as a viola and cello, but we do not have instruments and middle school students are curious to see if they have talent in playing an instrument.

Playing an instrument will help them become more successful in other subjects such as math and give them more opportunities and choices in life.
