Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our culture is greatly influenced my the media, technology, and multimedia advancements. The current generation needs to be able to express themselves and influence others through these outlets.

The C Academy Video Production Team will be a co-curricular opportunity for students to learn video production, editing, and television broadcast.

Through mini-grants, fundraising, and ASAS support we plan to purchase computers, video cameras, tripods, and software and move to expand our technological capabilities each year.

My Project

This request of video editing software will help us produce a quality television show for kids, by kids. Using digital video technology, our students will broadcast a bi-weekly news program throughout the school via DVD and cover special events, with plans for future podcasts. Students will learn the entire process of creating live television and communicate events, both curricular and extra-curricular, taking place in the school community. The productions will foster a sense of school pride and unity.

Television production encourages appropriate integration of technology, including use of the Internet, software applications, and technical equipment.

It provides a real and authentic audience for creative production in the school community and supports and encourages career connections in a variety of fields, including journalism, multimedia, photography, technology, and public service. Students are continually required to work collaboratively, to read and write, and inform.
