We are a high school robotics team from a small community located in rural Arkansas. Our after-school team was formed in December 2016 and currently includes about 14 students, both male and female, in grades 9-12 and two mentors who are teachers at the high school.
These students are dedicated, hard-workers who put in many, many hours to be ready for competition.
Through participation in the robotics program, students learn many skills such as collaboration, time-management, and problem solving that will be beneficial throughout their lives.
My Project
Our students will use this Robotics Kit to design, build, and program our robot to complete the tasks in this year's VEX Robotics Competition game: Tower Takeover.
Through participation in the VEX Robotics Competition, our students are working with technology, building problem-solving skills, and learning other valuable life skills, such as team-work, leadership, responsibility, and communication.
In the VEX Robotics Competition, presented by the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation, teams of students are tasked with designing and building a robot to play against other teams in a game-based engineering challenge. Classroom STEM concepts are put to the test as students learn lifelong skills in teamwork, leadership, communications, and more. Tournaments are held year-round at the regional, state, and national levels and culminate at the VEX Robotics World Championship each April!
