Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me give my students a green space outside our classroom. By installing a vertical garden outside the classroom, it will create a noise break and create a cool hangout spot our students. My colleague and I have tried to make the space between the portables a welcoming spot for students to hang out at lunch and during nutrition by adding tables and chairs as you can see from the pictures.

The fence separating the classrooms serves as the perfect attachment for flower boxes that could house wonderful smelling plants and flowers.

The boxes would also serve as a screen to block the sight, and sound, of the A/C units. Another advantage of our vertical garden is the fact that it will be providing an activity and cooking herbs for my Agriculture/Nutrition class. Students will be able to choose the plants that they would like to eventually incorporate in their cooking endeavors. Please help me provide my students a spot to kick back, relax, and enjoy the sights and smells of a garden space.
