Verse Novels to Engage Reluctant Readers!

My Project

It is so important for students to learn about the genre of verse novels and be exposed to inspiring stories as they enter their middle school years. This is my second year teaching 6th grade reading and it is my goal to empower and inspire my students to read engaging books that pique their interests and keep them wanting to read more because they enjoyed the books so much! Verse novels often are what reluctant readers turn to because they are easier and more engaging!

I would love to be able to put these engaging verse novels in my students' hands but I need your help!

I teach in a low-income school where many students don't have access to books at home. I encourage them to bring their books from my room back and forth from school to home and haven't had any issues getting them back for students to love and enjoy in the future! We would love to have a couple of copies of each book so that students can partner up and discuss the books during our verse novel genre of study!
