Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 26 sixth grade students live in Salinas, California which is predominately an agricultural community. As such, the majority of my students come from low-income families and are children of hardworking individuals.

Despite these challenging times due to Covid-19, my students are committed to their education!

Even during these unprecedented times, my students have shown how much they value education. They attend school ready to learn and participate every day. They are a very resilient group of kids with an extraordinary future.

My Project

Help us get some Valentine's Day snacks. This project would make sure all our students get Valentine's Day treats. The kids love snacks they don't normally get. They would get chips, cookies, candy, and fruit snacks.

Show our class some love with fun snacks for all!

Most of our students don't have the privilege to go to the store and buy cards, so I usually have the kids make them. These snacks would help make sure everyone would get snacks to take home and have a fun holiday treat. Not all our students have the privilege of having a plentiful snack-filled cabinet at home.
