Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember the thrill you felt when you first used a computer. You remember, the one which let you finally get rid of your type writer. Although most of my students have used a computer before, few have had the experience on anything but the 10 year old Apples currently used at school.

Liggett Elementary is located in a high poverty area of the San Fernando Valley.

My 5th grade students have little exposure to the world beyond their neighborhoods, but are eager to learn, and only need the appropriate resources to overcome the obstacles to learning they face on a daily basis.

My Project

This trimester my student will be learning about the solar system and the U.S. colonial period. With your help, the donated laptop will allow my students to access the Internet, view instructional videos, and create multimedia presentation which both inspire and foster creativity. Access to these materials will also allow me to present the topics in a variety of ways and will enhance my ability to meet the individual needs of my students.

Again, with the donation of a laptop, I will be able to access materials that will allow me to present curriculum in a variety of ways and foster creativity and a desire to learn in my students.

Without it, my students experiences will be limited, and as a result, so to may be their futures.
