My students are ages 7-8 and have recently returned to school after Hurricane Florence. They continue to work hard and move forward in the aftermath of this natural disaster. They take challenges in stride and realize it's best to have a positive mind set as we continue with our "unusual" school year.
It is my hope to provide tablets to enhance their 21st Century learning environment.
I want to help facilitate their love of learning through research and videos available online. I have created QR codes to take them to specific safe links directing them to information they seek to complete assignments and projects. Students use tablets commonly at home. This will take the skills they have learned in to a home-school connection to facilitate their learning. It is my hope for students to see beyond the walls of our classroom and use tablets as windows to the world beyond..
My Project
By using tablets in the classroom in a variety of subjects, students will have a multitude of resources to research the outside world.
When reading, students can use QR codes to go directly to safe sites for read alouds.
Also, while working in small groups students will be able to go to sites relevant to the their focused topic and research detail to help define and describe it. Videos and pictures will give them real life details on the subject.
Students will thrive when given tools to be successful 21st century global learners. Help me to put these tools in my students hands.
