Within the very beginnings of the school year, we were able to set up our sensory room objects with our MFLAC and school counselor. \r\nWe are a large school with a heavy military population. We have students across grade levels that are affected throughout the year by military orders, work ups, and deployments. We have a MFLAC (military family counselor) that uses our objects to help support students as they go through these transitions. Students learn how to use the items during small group lessons and are available to use them should they need support one on one for regulation.\r\nOur school counselor has also started using the items in small group lessons. She is taking the time to teach different strategies for self-regulation that uses the different items in the room.
