Using Legos to Incorporate STEM Learning in Our Classroom

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is located a few miles from the California-Mexico border with 100% of our students receiving free and reduced-price lunch. We are a class of first and second-grade students who are anxious and happy to learn. With the curriculum becoming more rigorous, especially in reading and math, we want to be able to experience the learning firsthand and be focused. Our class is an active bunch of students who are highly engaged and ready to dive into learning.
My Project
These LEGO Boost Creative Toolbox sets will make a difference in my students' learning because of the hands-on opportunity to get the chance to use technology while exploring and being curious.
These LEGO Boost Creative Toolbox sets will be used in my classroom as a student-centered learning center, with the students being in charge of their own learning and with me as the teacher, being there to encourage their questions and motivate the students to solve their own wonderings.
I want students to be able to find solutions and reasonings for their discoveries and use communication skills to explain what they are learning, and I believe these LEGO Boost Creative Toolbox Sets will allow for just that.
These sets will be useful to allow for student collaboration. My students not only will practice the engineering and programming aspect, but they will learn teamwork and social skills using the LEGO Boost Creative Toolbox .
