Using Games to Teach Social & Behavior Skills

Help me give my students the equipment to celebrate their behavioral and academic successes as well as teach social-emotional skills such as teamwork, positive peer-to-peer interactions, and decision-making.

My Project

SHS freshmen have shown great strides in their behavior and academics throughout the past school year. With many of our students being low-income, English-language learners, and/or having learning or behavioral disabilities, this is an extraordinary success for many of our students.

We are expanding students' social, emotional, and behavioral skills through gaming!

These resources are for a celebration of their successes through exercising these skills, but they are also going to be used to continue to foster and promote social, emotional, and behavioral skills through the media of students' choice: video games.

Our goal is to create rewards based on student choice and voice and to create future programs that will facilitate the growth of social skills such as cooperation and teamwork; emotional skills such as emotional management, conflict resolution, and growth mindsets; and behavioral skills such as turn-taking and decision-making.
