Before, kids were constantly fighting off distractions like hallway chatter, buzzing lights, desktop scraping. Now? They grab a pair of noise-canceling headphones, put their heads down, and just get to work. I've watched students who used to spend twenty minutes just trying to settle down put on their headphones and lock in instantly, working side-by-side on their laptops without getting derailed by the room.\r\n\r\nThe calming strips have been a game-changer for desk fidgeting, too. Kids run their fingers over them while taking tests or working through tough assignments—a simple, quiet way to stay grounded without feeling self-conscious.\r\n\r\nAnd Hues & Cues has become an absolute favorite. Socializing isn't always straightforward for neurodivergent teens, but this game gives them a shared language. Just this week, I watched three of my students huddled around the board, totally absorbed, debating exact shades of color, cracking up, and listening to how each person thinks. It's rare to see kids drop their guard like that, practice perspective-taking, and just enjoy being together.\r\n\r\nYou didn't just buy us supplies; you gave these kids control over their own learning environment.
