Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have a group of ambitious Transitional Kindergartners, Kindergartners and first graders who have a variety of exceptional needs such as learning disabilities, speech and language challenges, social emotional needs and autism. Some of my students are also English Language Learners while others have sensory needs.
They are all eager, happy and active learners who enjoy hands on learning and need on going additional support to access the curriculum.
We are a Title 1 school full of school pride and we are all proud to represent our school.
My Project
My special education students need constant fine motor skill practice. Making parent gifts is a fun way to reinforce this skill while it also giving them an opportunity to be creative and demonstrate their individual talents. We currently have a cricut cutting machine in our class room. We use it to cut out letters and make bulletin boards, the materials listed here will help my students branch out and get creative when making classroom parent gifts. The cricut easy press along with the vinyl and card stock will help my students use their inventiveness and innovation to make different vinyl designs.
The supplies I have selected will allow my students to think creatively and design memorable gifts to give their parents.
