This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My class consist of 6 Autistic students grades kindergarten to 3rd grade who are eager to learn. Each of these students have very loving and caring personality. They love working together to complete various activities. Our school is a Title I school located. One hundred percent of the students here receive free lunch.
Our tables have been repaired multiple times.
I’m not sure how much longer they will last. Being a low income school district, my students are faced with limited resources.
Despite, the many obstacles faced by my students. These students come to school daily excited about learning something new.
My Project
My students need new tables for our classroom to be able to work collaboratively. Our current tables are old and have been repaired many times. They are unstable and wobbly to work at. These tables will allow my students to work in groups. My students use their tables to complete group work together such as math, reading, and science. With these new tables, we will be able to move to our spots easily and safely so that we can work with our partners!
These tables will allow my students to collaborate with their peers easily.
I am focusing on increasing their concentration and focus, their sense of community and their excitement. Tables are perfect for doing just that.
