Help me give my students the opportunity to build the foundations of their Community Garden! Students will plant food, herbs and flowers while learning with the Butterfly Garden to mitigate the effects of being in a food desert!

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school serves low income students in the City of Rochester. Majority of our students qualify for free lunch and receive aid for transportation, uniforms and technology in the form of laptops.

This spring, our Garden Club is looking to hit the ground running with crops in the soil and butterflies in the air!

15 classrooms will grow vegetables, herbs and flowers to support our student body and new insect-friends! Once we have conducted research, each classroom will grow and nurture a set of live-Butterflies!
