Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Three years ago our school started an eSports team (competitive video games). Throughout the year, our students compete against other schools in a state-wide league and are learning valuable skills in leadership, teamwork, content creation, and data analytics. However, since the inception of this team, we have relied heavily on equipment owned by the students themselves. Much of that equipment has been heavily used and some of it does not function properly.

Our students are passionate about eSports but they are in need of new equipment in order to stay competitive.

We need a new Nintendo Controller to replace the old one with malfunctioning buttons. We also need speakers because we play on computer monitors which have no sound. We also need various A/V cables to replace ones that are either too short or have worn out over time.

This new equipment will allow our team to continue to participate in inter-scholastic leagues, to become more competitive in those leagues, and to continue to provide opportunities for our students to learn essential eSports industry skills.
