Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The specific items I am requesting will make a tremendous difference in their learning because of the following. To start, the new band books will help out with more kid-friendly ways to teach music, updating the standards from the 1950 books they were playing on. The keyboard will help auditory learners have a chance to hear what they are learning. The electronic stapler, tissues, towels, and phone storage are misc. things that will help them focus more, ensure their instrument works, and provide resources for students in case something they can't control happens during class.
My goals for this project are to make sure that students stay engaged and focused, knowing that students can at least share the music books to a stand partner.
My other goal is to make sure that students get as much musical experience as possible knowing that there are other resources to help them out. Especially the keyboard because when teaching them new things, it will easier for the students to hear what is going on instead of them not being able to hear what is happening.
What makes my students special is that they are willing to learn and keep trying, even when other band directors were here that quit before. They are very patient knowing that it is a part of learning a new instrument and enjoy all of the playing time they can get. They ask for help all of the time and understand concepts pretty fast.
